NEW DELHI: A smartphone with 18GB RAM is now a reality. Developed together with Tencent Games, Nubia has launched the Tencent Edition of and RedMagic 6 Pro gaming smartphones.
Out of the two smartphones, the RedMagic 6 Pro is the one which comes with 18GB RAM. This makes it the world’s smartphone to pack 18GB RAM.
RedMagic 6 and RedMagic 6 features
Both the gaming smartphones come with an AMOLED screen with 165Hz refresh rate. The smartphones come with a Touch Choreographer technology, an intelligent adaptive technology which selects the most accurate refresh rate based on your activity. This helps in offering a better viewing experience and also saves battery.
The company claims that the smartphones offer response time as low as 8ms which makes them extremely responsive and also allow gamers to hit and play faster. The smartphones offer 91.28% screen-to-body ratio.
Apart from this, both the smartphones also come equipped with CPHY-DSI Technology which increases the transmission rate for high quality images twice and also uses 20 to 50% less power.
The RedMagic 6 series of smartphones uses the new ICE 6.0 Multi-dimensional Cooling System and comes with an in-built turbofan. The company claims that the high-speed fan can reach up to 20,000 rpm. The smartphones also house a canyon air duct design which increases the airflow.
Not to miss, the gaming smartphones come with 400Hz Dual Pro Shoulder Triggers and Classic gaming design with RGB strip running across the smartphone.
Price and availability
The RedMagic 6 smartphone comes in Black and Pulse colour options and its price starts at 3,799 yuan (Rs 42,760).
On the other hand, the RedMagic 6 Pro can be purchased in Black and Silver colour options and its price starts at 4399 yuan (Rs 49,510).
Both the smartphones will go on sale in China starting March 11. The company has also announced that it will globally launch the devices on March 16.
RedMagic 6 and RedMagic 6 Pro specifications
The duo comes with a 6.8-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution. The smartphones are powered by the high-end octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor.
The gaming smartphones pack 8GB/12GB/16GB/18GB of RAM and comes with 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options. The devices run Android 11 operating system topped with the company’s own layer of customisation Redmagic OS 4.0.
The devices come equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor and feature stereo speakers and three mics.
In the camera department, the smartphone houses a triple rear camera with 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and 2MP macro camera. The front is home to an 8MP selfie shooter.
The RedMagic 6 Pro is backed by a 4500mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. Whereas the RedMagic 6 houses a 5050mAh battery with 66W fast charging support.
